MERIT AWARD OF THE SOCIETY FOR HISTORICAL ARCHAEOLOGY, January 2014
The Société du patrimoine urbain de Québec has received the Merit Award at the annual congress of the Society for Historical Archaeology for its creative approaches linking the citizens to the past — thanks to innovative methods in and around Quebec city, UNESCO world heritage city since more dans 25 years.
For more than a decade, the Société du patrimoine urbain de Québec (SPUQ) is associated with the UNESCO Chair in the cultural heritage of the Université Laval. Its mandate is to promote the educational and cultural values of the UNESCO. The SPUQ constitutes the fourth intervention axis of the Chair, that is to say, Public awareness and the Circulation of scientific research so that knowledge and experience are shared by the largest possible number in the world.
